Spiral UK have over 30 years’ experience working with architects and contractors to deliver staircase, on time and budget, in a range of public and commercial spaces including: schools, universities, offices, restaurants, museums and residential developments.
We specialise in the design, manufacture and installation of all types of bespoke staircases including spiral stairs, helical, straight and cantilevered. This experience means we know how to fit striking staircases, design to suit their environment, that are durable, functional and meet all regulatory requirements. We have a skilled team of design engineers, fabricators and installers who understand the challenges of a commercial project and can work with clients to anticipate and resolve any issues; ensuring we deliver staircases of a high standard in a timely and effective manner.
Our Process
01 Design
We take staircase design ideas, concepts and sketches and develop them into detailed 3D models and renders to support the construction drawings. This means everyone in the project team has a clear understanding of what is required to ensure the design and build process runs smoothly.
02 Manufacturing
At Spiral UK our ethos is to manufacture staircases in-house to ensure that the quality we pride ourselves on is always maintained. We have a large production facility designed to maximise the flow of work with state-of-the-art equipment including a CNC plasma cutting machine and overhead crane. Our team of highly skilled fabricators ensure our high standards are met on time and to budget.
03 Installation
In order to ensure that our high standards of install and service are met, all our fitters are directly employed. Our hard working, experience installation team are well trained, flexible and able to work out of hours. They all hold CSCS cards and PASMA, IPAF, SSSTS and slinger banksmen certificates.
Project Management
With over 30 years’ experience in the industry we are known for our ability to design and install feature staircases that work practically and meet regulatory requirements.
Our project management and workflow process ensure active communication so you are kept up to date with progress and we can make sure projects run smoothly so you and your client’s expectations are met.
We are happy to liaise with you, your architects and site to ensure that as the development evolves, the staircase design and installations will work. We can talk through designs, visit site and discuss approaches to ensuring the staircase element of your project is delivered as required.

Materials and Finishes
Many of our staircases are crafted from a steel structure for strength and stability but we work with a vast range of industrial to high end luxury materials including steel, timber, concrete, stone, glass, precious metals, marble, leather and even rope!
- Treads You can choose from different treads in wood, glass, concrete, stone or steel and we can supply samples.
- Handrails Our handrails can also be designed and installed in stainless steel, wood, glass, timber or leather/rope/fabric-clad.
- Balustrade In addition to installing balustrade and handrails as part of a staircase installation we can also design and fit balustrade for balconies, landings or terraces which complement the overall design of a building. We offer this in a range of materials including steel, wood, glass, timber or material-clad.
- Finishes We can supply the stairs pre-finished or ready to receive the final in situ spraying, do the spraying for you or leave the stair primed ready for site decoration. Finishes include painted steel, powder coating, stainless steel, weathered steel, wet paint or lacquered.
