Every staircase we design, manufacture, and install passes through the hands of the same specialist team – sales, design engineering, fabrication, and installation, all in-house at Spiral UK. Many of our people have spent decades honing their craft in metalwork and bespoke fabrication, and since 2026, that expertise is matched by a direct stake in the business through our Employee Ownership Trust.
Leadership
Spiral UK’s leadership carries forward four decades of hands-on staircase expertise. Andrew Holland leads the business as CEO, building on foundations laid by Eric Nicholls – son of co-founder Buzz Nicholls – whose experience has shaped the company’s direction over the past 40 years as Spiral UK moves into its next chapter as an employee-owned business.
Sales & Marketing
Your first point of contact when enquiring about a bespoke staircase. Our sales team are happy to talk through design ideas and project requirements, and can share design guides or put together a detailed quotation depending on your brief. Working alongside them, our marketing team shares the work we do and the projects we’re proud of.
Design Engineers
Our design engineers bring every bespoke staircase to life through 3D renders and detailed technical specifications, ensuring everyone involved in a project – from architect to fabricator – understands exactly what’s being built.
Fabricators
Based at our Helston, Cornwall premises, our fabricators are highly skilled craftsmen with years of knowledge and experience, ensuring every staircase we produce meets the highest standard of quality.
Dispatch
Once a staircase is ready to leave our factory, getting it to site intact is its own specialist job. Our dispatch team plan and coordinate the safe transport of every staircase – often broken down into sections for the journey – ensuring each component arrives exactly when and where our installation team needs it, in the same condition it left Helston.
Installation
We never subcontract installation. Our fitting teams are directly employed and trained to our own exacting standards – the same people who understand exactly how your staircase was built are the ones who deliver it to your site.
