Spiral UK Opened Its Doors for National Manufacturing Day 2026

Groups from local schools and colleges, suppliers, and Nicola Boase, the Mayor of Helston made her way around our Helston premises, getting a first-hand look at what we do and at the range of careers behind every staircase we design, engineer and install.

Visiting students got up close with the action, including a presentation on Spiral UK’s work, a tour of our CAD design office, a demonstration of plasma cutting, and heavy rolling equipment in action.

One visiting lecturer said: “It was great to see Spiral UK’s passion for sustainability and their products. Learners enjoyed the whole experience, as did staff.”

It was particularly encouraging to see school and college students engaging directly with our fabricators and apprentices, getting a real sense of the skills and opportunities within the team — from questions on the shop floor to conversations about where a career in manufacturing could lead.

Spiral UK has been part of the Cornwall community for over 40 years, designing and manufacturing bespoke staircases for customers across the UK.
