Spiral UK make a magnificent stair for iconic London offices

We have just finished installing a beautiful curved staircase at 110 Bishopsgate in central London as part of a large office fit out project.

The colossal staircase joins the top two office floors of the building and reaches out in a spectacular curve into a six storey atrium overlooking the London skyline and the Gherkin.

The installation involved the Spiral UK team of fitters working nights and manoeuvring huge sections of the steel stair and timber up to the 36th floor of the building.

Spiral UK’s Managing Director, Eric Nicholls explains how his team brought such a prestigious project to life:

It is such a privilege for us to be able to work on prominent fit out projects like these. Seeing a staircase in situ, that makes such a statement, that we’ve designed manufactured and installed – is always a proud moment. It is quite a feat to work on a stair of such size and scale and a testament to the skills and experience of our team that it has been done so well.

We crafted this staircase in steel with treads clad in timber and glass risers. The inner balustrade was also glass with an outer oak balustrade that was designed to include a channel for planting to form a living balustrade. The final touch was beautiful oak handrails.

The end result is very impressive and has already received lots of compliments.
