A Special Day At Buckingham Palace
It is with immense pride that we share a remarkable milestone for Spiral UK and the wider Cornish manufacturing community. Our Managing Director, Eric Nicholls, was recently honoured with an invitation to attend a Royal Garden Party at Buckingham Palace — a distinguished recognition of his extraordinary contribution to manufacturing in Cornwall spanning more than four decades.
Four Decades of Dedication to Cornish Manufacturing
Eric’s invitation to the Palace is a testament to a career built not merely on commercial success, but on a genuine and enduring commitment to the people, businesses, and industries of Cornwall. Over more than 40 years, he has championed the cause of British manufacturing at every opportunity — both through his leadership at Spiral UK and through his active involvement with the Cornwall Manufacturers Group, an organisation that has long served as a vital voice for the region’s industrial sector.
Attended by individuals who have made a meaningful and lasting difference in their field, garden parties at Buckingham Palace are among the most prestigious events in the royal calendar. That Eric was among those selected is a reflection of the esteem in which he is held — not just within Cornwall, but at a national level.
A Memorable Day in London
Accompanied by his wife Vicky, Eric made the journey to London for what proved to be an exceptional occasion. Suitably dressed for the formality of the event, the couple enjoyed a glorious spring day on the Palace grounds. True to royal standards, the refreshments — including an array of sandwiches and cakes — were reported to be nothing short of exemplary. By all accounts, it was a day to be long remembered.
Proud to Design and Manufacture in the UK
At Spiral UK, we have always believed that British manufacturing is something to be celebrated and protected. We design and manufacture entirely in-house, and that commitment is upheld each day by a skilled and dedicated team whose expertise and loyalty are at the heart of everything we produce. Eric’s recognition at Buckingham Palace affirms what we have always known: that investing in people, in craft, and in the future of UK manufacturing matters.
As we look ahead, we remain proud to stand behind British industry — and prouder still to be led by someone whose lifetime of work has now been acknowledged at the very highest level. Congratulations, Eric. It is an honour richly deserved.
