We’ve been around long enough to know the ins and outs of the most complex of convoluted staircase designs, riser sizes recited in our sleep and helical designs dancing through our mind’s eye.
The possibilities are vast and making individually designed staircases is our specialty.
Here at Spiral UK we design, manufacture and install high-end staircases from concept to completion, carefully considering every implication at design stage so we can build stairs to order that fit perfectly when we bring them to site for install across the UK.
We’re particularly skilled when it comes to spiral stair manufacture – the engineering for a curved staircase is something of a skill that our in-house design engineers hone on a daily basis, creating incredible gravity-defying hovering helices to tiny little steel spirals in limited spaces.
At our headquarters everything is in-house; stair manufacture starts in the drawing office when the outline idea comes in from the Sales Managers – they will have noted down every aspect of the customer’s likes and dislikes, needs and wants along with technical spec for the designers to calculate the loads and translate into a visual on SolidWorks, a software program that is made specifically for solid modelling computer-aided design and computer-aided engineering.
It can take weeks to figure out the finer details of a never-been-done-before design, but as little as a day of designing before sign off means we can fire up the factory floor.

And here is the fun part; sparks fly and metal melts as our time-served team of fabricators and welders put their hard-earned skills to best use. Most of our staircases are manufactured in steel for strength and clad in the client’s chosen render which can be anything from glass to timber to leather to stone.
We’re also concrete stair manufacturers, as this is how the business started all those years ago and can mould massive, poured slabs with or without infills, grips and nosings – the people in our factory are multi-skilled in all aspects of stair manufacture.
As bespoke staircase manufacturers, we combine the latest technologies with design flair and craftsmanship, to create stunning staircases for many of the country’s most prestigious buildings.
As such, we have a factory filled with impressive machinery with digital controls allowing the design team to send technical files direct to our CNC plasma machine that can cut complicated flat steel shapes with precision
From there, the pieces of the puzzle are put together in one of our manufacturing bays, all serviced by fully motorised overhead swing jib cranes to load up assembled stairs and move them around at the touch of a button.
It’s a very safe and efficient manufacturing process that we’re quite proud of and allows the entire fabrication operation to adhere to accredited manufacturing quality standards (which not all staircase manufacturers do).
