Celebrating Excellence at the Cornwall Manufacturers Group Awards 2025
Success for Spiral UK
The Spiral UK team enjoyed an excellent evening at the Cornwall Manufacturers Group (CMG) Awards 2025 on 6th November at the Eden Project. The event brought together the best of the region’s manufacturing community for a night of recognition, networking, and celebration. It once again highlighted the innovation, collaboration, and passion that drive manufacturing in Cornwall. With such enthusiasm and talent on display, the future of the industry looks stronger than ever.
Spiral UK proudly celebrated the achievement of apprentice Josh Yung, who earned runner-up in the Apprentice of the Year category. His success reflects both his individual talent and the company’s ongoing commitment to developing new skills within the sector.
A Memorable Evening
The awards ceremony, hosted by David FitzGerald, ran smoothly thanks to his trademark humour and professionalism. The atmosphere was lively as guests from across Cornwall gathered to celebrate achievements and support their peers. The keynote speaker, Stephen Phipson CBE, CEO of Make UK, delivered an inspiring address that highlighted the crucial role manufacturing plays in the UK economy.
Recognising Industry Achievement
This year’s awards were possible thanks to the generous support of sponsors including Nalders LLP, the Cornwall & Isles of Scilly Growth Hub, Bishop Fleming Chartered Accountants, PKF-Francis Clark, Sean Mitchell (Oxford Innovation Advice), Truro and Penwith College, and The Cornwall College Group. SeaSpace also continued its valued sponsorship, which the organisers warmly acknowledged.
The evening celebrated a range of standout organisations. Among the winners were bott UK, Watson-Marlow Fluid Technology Solutions, Composite Integration, Sellectronics Ltd, and ELIQUO HYDROK. Each company demonstrated exceptional contribution to Cornwall’s growing manufacturing sector.
Inspiring the Next Generation
A key moment of the night was the CMG Academy Student of the Year award. A touching video presentation by Rebecca Smith and inspiring words from Luke Bazeley showcased the Academy’s positive impact on young people exploring careers in manufacturing. Congratulations went to Arlen Matthews of Penryn College, the well-deserved winner.
A Shared Celebration
Special thanks were given to Harry Young-Jamieson and Jon Hurrell for organising the event, and to the Eden Project team for creating such a memorable evening with excellent food and seamless service. The night also offered valuable opportunities for professionals across the sector to connect, share ideas, and celebrate the strength of Cornwall’s manufacturing community.
