Bespoke Staircases

Strong year end results announced with sales up 30%

High-end bespoke spiral staircase manufacturer Spiral UK has seen strong sales despite the uncertainty of Covid-19, with orders of over £4M in the last 12 months up over 30% on the previous year.

Eric Nicholls - MD at Spiral UK

Spiral UK design manufacture and install beautiful custom-made staircases for residential, commercial, fit out and escape markets in both new build and renovation or refurbishment settings. Their current order book reflects this with orders from all sectors.

The company has benefited from some exciting contract wins recently including stairs in the Royal Albert Hall, a large office fit out project in St James Square for an international private equity firm, the entrance staircase to Swansea Arena and the contract for flagship project 9 Millbank in Westminster for the largest residential developer in London, Berkeley Group.

Secretary of state Alok Sharma wrote to manufacturing businesses during lockdown recognising that the sector had a role to play in keeping the economy going during such unprecedented times. Many of the construction sites Spiral UK had ongoing commitments to stayed open during the period and, after adapting to the new government guidance for Covid-19, Spiral UK did the same thing.

The company has changed its working practices to meet guidelines and continues to strive to work as normally as possible. With challenging times likely to be ahead such a positive order book will put them in a strong position going forward.

Eric Nicholls Managing Director of Spiral UK said

“We have been working hard with clients, architects and contractors to secure some very exciting projects over the last 12 months and our sound order book is as a result of this.

Spiral UK prides itself on the delivery of high-end designer staircases and is looking forward to creating some very stylish stairs over the next year for some great projects.

Projects often take time to come to fruition and as always we are in discussions for a number of forthcoming projects and quoting some interesting work.”

The company employs over 40 people with a head office and factory in Helston, Cornwall, a sales office in Cambridge and staircase installation teams working across the UK.
